President Masud Pezeshkian returned to Tehran after bilateral meetings with senior officials from SCO countries that focused on strategic cooperation. He said that the agreements reached with Moscow and Beijing would deepen economic and security ties. “The implementation of the agreements will help create a favorable outlook for Iran in key sectors,” Pezeshkian stated upon his arrival in Tehran.
As part of the summit’s outcomes, Iran, Russia, and China signed a joint letter to the United Nations opposing the unilateral reimposition of sanctions through the snapback mechanism. Foreign Minister Seyed Abbas Araqchi, who accompanied Pezeshkian, emphasized the alignment of positions between the three countries on major international issues.
Araqchi also underlined Iran’s cooperation with the International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA), placing it in the context of Israeli-U.S. actions against the country. He further stressed that the snapback mechanism would have no impact on Tehran’s engagement with the SCO, noting that member states reaffirmed their support for Iran in facing international challenges.
